St. Paul’s Newman Center Chapel

Fargo, North Dakota
Completed 2023

St. Paul’s Newman Center Chapel is a contemporary sacred space designed to foster worship, reflection, and a sense of spiritual community for the students and staff of North Dakota State University. Located at the heart of the new Newman Center campus, the chapel is the liturgical centerpiece of a broader development that includes residential, academic, and gathering spaces.

Completed in 2023, the chapel features a thoughtful integration of traditional Catholic symbolism with modern architectural expression. Emphasis was placed on natural light, acoustic clarity, and a cohesive liturgical layout that supports the celebration of the Mass and other sacramental rites. Key design elements include custom furnishings, a warm material palette, and a centralized sanctuary that encourages participation and spiritual engagement.

This project reflects a collaborative approach between architects, liturgical consultants, and artisans to create a meaningful and enduring worship environment rooted in tradition yet responsive to the present.
